About
Damion Burton is a highly creative and multi-talented Senior Graphic Designer with experience mentoring design teams for ad campaigns and station promotions that have generated multi-millions of dollars to date. My background in visual design includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Arts and Animation, 14+ years of experience and a lifetime of passion for creating impactful images.
Art is not only my profession, but it’s my first love. I’ve loved creating art since the first day I could draw a circle. Those circles, turned into a Mickey Mouse drawing. And that Mickey Mouse drawing began my journey.
That passion for drawing cartoons eventually led me to pursue an education in animation. After receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Media Arts & Animation from The Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg in 2005, I continued my career in banking. Despite being in the financial field, I still found ways to create professionally. While working at Wintrust, I was able to use my background in cartooning. I created a few holiday postcards that would be used for children to color and bring to the bank to display. During my stay at the bank, I was commissioned to artistically design a “community focused bench” for a charity auction on behalf of the Community Bank of Downers Grove. What a great experience that was.
In 2007, I left the banking industry for good, and started my career as a graphic designer for Bonneville Radio’s three major market radio stations; WTMX, WDRV, and WILV(which would go through many name changes, but today known as WSHE).
Throughout my 14 year career with Bonneville Radio/Hubbard Radio, there have been many different casts and characters that have banded together to put the best product forward. My teams efforts and talents actually have earned a few website awards along the way. But today, with all of them gone, I’m proud to say I’m still the last designer trusted to communicate their vision.
So…who am I? I am a husband, a father to three beautiful children(two human, one puppy), that grew up in the western suburbs with a destiny waiting to share my vision with the world.
My creative approach—Captivate the audience’s attention with vivid, bold designs or possibly a more clean, modern look design that highlights the brand and to create engagement.
